Hallmark genre fundamentals – running, jumping, swimming and throwing projectiles – are accounted for, but they never interact with each other, the levels, or enemies in any novel, imaginative ways. However, while Castle of Illusion ‘s presentation is aces, the gameplay is disappointingly mundane.
